One question that Jesus asked his disciples, was who do men say that I am?
Matthew 16:13-16
13 When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?
14 And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets.
15 He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?
16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.
Then Jesus likewise asked his disciples, who do you say that I am? Peter answered correctly and then Jesus told him in Matthew 16:17;
And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.
It's imperative that we know who our Savior is so therefore we do not get it twisted. As his children, we are citizens of his kingdom. The Holyghost bears witness that we are the children of God. There are many Christians that find themselves shrinking back, minimizing, denying who they are, because some people can't accept who they are, but when you have been liberated by the Holyghost to be the son or daughter of God, you don't concern yourself with who don't like it. Jesus did not change his status to fit the mold of anyone who didn't see him for who he was. Peter answered him by the Father's "revelation" of who he really was.
When you ever doubt or even find yourself attempting to live below your identity and apparent ability as a citizen of God's kingdom, remember
But now thus saith the Lord who created thee, O Jacob, and He that formed thee, O Israel: “Fear not, for I have redeemed thee; I have called thee by thy name; thou art Mine. Isaiah 43:1
Ephesians 2:10
10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
